2019 Grenache Syrah, Cellar Note

The vintage started with ample winter rains, and a steady growing season which allowed the varietals to achieve optimum ripeness.

For this vintage, the blend shifts slightly toward Grenache with its aromas of cranberry sauce, pomegranate, and strawberry preserves. Using Syrah from both our estate and the Durell Vineyard provides a compelling assortment of baking spices, crème de cassis, and anise.

On the palate the vibrancy of the Grenache is felt with minerality and verve.  The Syrah provides fullness to the mouth, textured tannins and enticing finish.  This wine is youthful and incredibly food friendly.  Age should provide additional depth and weight over the coming years.
